10 astuces simples pour faire briller son four.

Ask yourself this: when was the last time you thoroughly cleaned out your oven? Though cleaning the oven is often seen as an unenviable task, there are some simple tricks and tips for making it less of a chore. You’ll also find most of the products you need around the home.

Cleaned Oven

1. Soak first

Before cleaning, you should always try to remove as many loose parts as you can. You should then soak these removable parts in a diluted vinegar-based cleaning solution while the oven itself is being cleaned. This will also make it easier to get into those hard to reach places.

2. Salt for the baking tray

This is a good way to clean a dirty baking tray. You’ll need a lot of salt so it’s best not to use a small salt dispenser.

First, sprinkle generous amounts of salt on areas that are encrusted with dirt. Place the baking tray in the oven at 120°F and wait until the salt has turned brown. All you’ll then have to do is remove the salt and wipe away any residue with warm water and a sponge.

3. Baking soda

You can also use baking soda to clean dirty baking trays. To do so, take about three tablespoons of baking soda and spread it on surfaces encrusted with dirt. Then pour mineral water on the tray until it’s completely covered. Now, switch on the oven to 210°F and wait until the water has evaporated (it should take about 20 minutes).

After the tray has cooled, run a cloth or sponge over it while rinsing with clean water — and you’re done!

4. Vinegar

Vinegar or vinegar essence can be used to clean your oven quickly. When fat or dirt is encrusted into the surface, it’s always best to soak the affected areas first.

For excellent results, you can also use a combination of vinegar and dish soap. After mixing equal amounts of both products, spray the solution on the oven surfaces before rubbing it in with a sponge. Wait 30 minutes and wipe away the dirt using a sponge.

5. Washing soda

Washing soda is also a useful weapon against baked-in dirt in your oven. First, put on some gloves before mixing two to three teaspoons of washing soda in warm water. You can either apply the mixture by hand or spray it on the surface. Leave it to soak in for several hours before wiping the dirt away.

6. Homemade oven cleaner

This is just as simple to make as the other solutions listed here. First mix eight teaspoons of baking powder, eight teaspoons of dish soap and six teaspoons of white vinegar in a large bowl. Now, spread a thin layer of the solution over the entire oven. Leave it to soak in for 10 minutes before wiping everything away with a damp cloth.

7. Homemade scouring agent

This should help clean surfaces that are particularly badly encrusted with dirt. Mix three tablespoons of baking soda with one teaspoon of citric acid and leave it to soak on the affected areas. Now you can start scouring. It’s also good to know that this agent works well for removing limescale.

8. Ceramic glass cooktop cleaner

This is a product you might not actually have at home. While wearing gloves, apply the cooktop cleaner to the affected areas and let it soak for 20 to 30 minutes. You should then be able to remove the dirt with ease.

9. Vinegar-based cleaner

Here’s another great tip for cleaning glass surfaces. First, soak kitchen towels in a vinegar-based cleaner and stick them to the oven window. After waiting for half an hour, use a ceramic glass scraper to remove the dirt.

10. Cleaning between the glass on the oven door

Our last trick doesn’t actually concern any cleaning agents, but may be just as useful. So if fat or any other dirt has accumulated in the gap between the glass in your oven door, you may want to try this handy tip out.

On most modern models, there are two small levers underneath the door you can turn to remove the inside pane of glass or even the entire door. You’ll then need a screwdriver to remove any screws on top of the door. Now, you just have to pry out the inside pane of glass with the end of a spoon and use any of the nine methods above to clean the surface.

After trying out these tricks, your oven should now be looking its immaculate best! As you can see, it really doesn’t take much effort either.
